If you missed the concert by David LLoyd Knight the last time… well, fret not cos he is back again this 31st July… right after the Musical Camp at 8:30pm on the 31st also at Going OM, David is Gonna take you down a key fromt the camp and glam musical event to a down to earth , real night of music…

Described in San Francisco Bay Area’s METRO magazine as “[capturing] the distinct spiritual, ethnic, and technological dimensions present in our Silicon Valley culture,” *David Knight’s music defies categorization with its varied use of home_made samples, live-looping, and vocal effects. Nowhere is Knight’s unique sound more evident than in his “zestful live performances”, where “with a Jeff Buckley-like ethereal voice,” the singer-songwriter alternates between guitar, sampler, and various instruments to create an enigmatic tapestry of music.

Hailing from California’s fasrt-paced Silicon Valley has certainly had an influence on Knight’s music. But a visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2008 inspired his Mandala EP, which he self produced and released in three parts from late 2008 to early 2009. Richly layered and lyrically poignant, it showcases the raw energy of a musician truly comfortable with his craft.

He later released a 5 track EP titled The Sensation of Flying before returning to Malaysia for a tour in late 2009. In Malaysia, Knight has performed at popular music venues in Kuala Lumpur including No Black Tie, Cloth and Clef, and Laundry. He has been invited to play alongside local singer-songwriters such as Pete Teo, Jerome Kugan, and Yuna at notable music festivals KL Sing Song and Moonshine.

Before going solo, Knight toured the east coast of the U.S. with his former ambient rock band Day One Symphony. He is also the vocalist and guitarist of avant-garde jazz outfit Panthelion. Knoght is currently in Kuala Lumpur working on his first full-length album titled Sycophant.

However, he has find time this june to perform in Singapore and we are lucky to be one of his chosen venues!!!
